The Working Mom Hustle

The Working Mom Hustle: Finding My Groove as an Entrepreneur and Parent

Being a working mom is no joke.

Fulfilling the responsibilities of being a parent, balancing the demands of building a business while ensuring that you enjoy and appreciate life and your family from time to time can be overwhelming, but we find our groove.

It is very fulfilling to do something you love and are dedicated to. And one thing moms need to learn is that with the right mindset, determination, and a little flexibility, you can thrive in both areas of your life.

Here's how you can find balance between both the amazing parts of your life:

  • Control Over Your Time

The entrepreneur has the control of time by himself, so he can schedule his day to suit the needs of his children. So if your daughter requires your presence in a school event or just an afternoon of silence and noise with her, then you adjust your work schedule, grab a portable protein snack, and shoot away.

  • Presence to Your Child

One of the biggest challenges is that you will feel like you are missing all the important moments with your child. So, make sure you are there for their milestones. Having your own something gives you the freedom to drop everything and be there for your kid when they need you the most.

It's about finding ways to be present while still pursuing your dreams as an entrepreneur.

  • Flexibility Matters

Life as a working mom isn't like low-carb high-protein foods—it's not perfect. Flexibility around your schedule, working around school schedules, meal times, and nap times is the bottom line.

Flexibility means you get to prepare a nutritious meal for your child, take them to school, and spend quality time with them without compromising your work commitments.

  • Hybrid Life

It is learning to embrace both worlds and give them equal importance and finding a rhythm that works for me and my family-not about choosing one over the other. Being a mom doesn't mean you stop working; be a role model, and teach them the value of hard work, resilience, and creativity.

It is in motherhood that you learn to be resourceful, patient, and intentional about your time; the same can be said of being a business owner.

Let's continue supporting and encouraging one another on this beautiful, challenging, and rewarding path of motherhood and entrepreneurship.
